Chapel Hill Transit Joins Regional Transit Information Center
From Triangle Transit
Research Triangle Park, NC (October 3, 2009) - Chapel Hill Transit (CHT) will join the GoTriangle Regional Transit Information Center on Monday, October 5, 2009.
“We are very excited to join the regional call center, because it will greatly improve our customers’ access to route and schedule information,” said Steve Spade, Chapel Hill Transit’s Director of Transportation. “It will help even more people take advantage of the wonderful public transportation services we have in Chapel Hill and Carrboro.”
The regional call center, managed by Triangle Transit, provides a single source of information about public transportation services in the Triangle region. General Manager David King said, “We’re pleased that Chapel Hill Transit is joining the effort to make travel by transit more accessible by calling one number region-wide at 919-485-RIDE.” Transit information is also available at www.gotriangle.org.
Chapel Hill joins C-Tran in Cary, CAT in Raleigh, DATA in Durham and Triangle Transit in a seamless, regional effort to provide information about transit services. The call center is staffed from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. On weekends, transit information is available from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Saturdays and 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sundays, 364 days a year.
The Go Triangle Regional Transit Information Center opened in 2007 and handled more than 325,000 calls its first year.
