Veolia Rider Marks 278 Preventable Accident Free Days and Counting!

— from Veolia

Charlotte Area Transit Concord, N.C., March 2010 ― Last month Veolia Transportation Rider hosted the VT Safety Café to celebrate achieving 180 days without a preventable accident. This was the first time Veolia Rider had reached that mark.

Both complaints and Drive Cam coachable incidents are at historic lows, and everyone has really embraced the evaluation and trail check program as a way to learn to work better and more safely. Everyone has noticed that safety and quality, no matter the job, go hand in hand, and that there are additional benefits (such as praise from our customers) besides not being involved in preventable accidents.

Last week, we reached another property milestone, making it to 270 days and counting. Staff had cupcakes with “270” on them and other treats ready to greet the employees the morning after making the mark. We currently stand at 278 days preventable motor vehicle accident free, and 1,496 days without a preventable employee accident/injury. Every department from Bus Operators, Supervisors, Maintenance Personnel and Staff are excited and focused on reaching the previously unthinkable 365 day mark!
