CCTS Annual Traning Event on Anti-Texting
— from Cabarrus County Transportation, NC
Cabarrus County, N.C., August 31, 2010― Cabarrus County Transportation had its annual training on August 28, 2010. This year NC Highway Patrol Offers Karen Cagle and Kevin Henley made their anti-texting presentation.
This consisted of our drivers driving over a course that was set up by the officers. Each driver drove the course twice. They drove it one with no distractions and once while receiving and sending text messages.
It was a learning experience for all to see the difference in the two runs and how texting and talking on phone affected the drivers. They also presented a video on texting that was followed by a question and answer session. Hopefully we can make this a permanent part of our annual training.
During training awarded was Jamie Smith for 5 years of driving with no accidents and
Marlboro Johnson for 6 years of driving with no accidents.
